The Countdown Begins

Now that preliminary wedding plans are out of the way, I hope to return to my old blogging frequency. Remember when you used to have something to read each day rather than every three months? That's what we're aiming for. I'll try to spare you boring details of invitation paper and bridal fittings, but I would like to share with you the joy that we've been experiencing for the past several months.

While wedding planning is known for being stressful, it really is the most magical experience. In less than 100 days, I'll be married to the best guy I know. The guy who drives me absolutely everywhere, skims all the crape myrtle blooms from our swimming pool (more on that later), worships beside me every Sunday ... and a million other little thinks that make our everyday life very fun. I get excited about the commitment we're going to make in a little over 3 months.

I came across this picture the other day:

I can't remember how many years ago this picture was taken, but this was one of the first few times Ty and I went out together as more than friends. The picture was taken at Moss and Michel Duvall's rehearsal dinner, which happened to be at Hill Country Village, which also happens to be where we'll marry in September.

We've grown a lot since (older, too, if you couldn't tell), and this weekend, we celebrated ourupcoming nuptials with an engagement party at David and Bertel Fite's camp. It was a gorgeous party with all of our closest friends and family. Of course, we're excited about our wedding and marriage, but it was great to be surrounded by so many people who are just as excited as we are. Really, it's nothing shy of magical.
