With me and Ty, Valentine's Day isn't really a big deal. Although this time of year does hold special significance in our relationship because we became engaged on February 10, 2010, but we don't really put the emphasis on Valentine's Day itself.
I remember my first Valentine's Day with Ty. I still have the card he wrote me. Inside it his note said, "I look forward to becoming more a part of your life." All those years ago, neither of us knew where those words would lead. But I kept his card, so my guess is that deep down I knew Ty was going to be something special in my life. Ty also gave me a day planner that year. I don't use it anymore, but it's still in the top drawer of my desk and I can't seem to throw it away. It's not a painfully romantic gift, like some girls would hope for, but it was something I needed. I still adore his practicality.
I wasn't expecting much, or anything, this year. I'd gotten Ty a new watch since his old one died recently. His practicality is rubbing off on me! But for my Valentine's Day gift, I mostly just needed a ride home from Minden on Monday. Ty pulled up to the office and as we started driving home, he asked if I wanted my gift and to reach behind my seat.
This was waiting for me.
I am so stoked about my new Kindle! I carry it with me everywhere, even though I've only been able to read a few pages of my first book. I downloaded Laura Hillenbrand's "Unbroken" and can't wait for some down time to read!
But since I carry it everywhere, I've been investigating Kindle covers and need your assistance. Diane von Furstenburg and Kate Spade have some really cute designs available. Your thoughts and opinions are welcome ... and necessary. I'm incapable of deciding much of anything on my own!
Here are the two front runners:
I love this one. The inside is a lighter shade of pink. I think it's girly, but still classy.
This one falls into more of the cute category. I love the black and white stripes inside. Kate Spade is always adorable, but I question the pink/red combo since I'm more of a blue/green girl ... still very cute.
Here are some other options I like:
Simple red patent leather with giant white and black polka-dotted fabric inside.
There's part of me that really likes this fabric, although I think it's a little more "mature" than the others. OK, I'm being polite ... does this look like an old lady Kindle case?
All cute, but I need help! I am great at narrowing decisions down to three to four options. But picking just one is impossible! Please help, and spare my husband from this decision making process.

My favorite is the red/pink striped one by Kate Spade, but I'm a girl who loves pink.
And no, I don't think that last one looks like an old lady case. It kind of looks mosaic-like to me.
Deep down, in my heart of hearts, I think I like the red/pink stripe also. Just didn't know if I was still caught up in Valentine's Day!
My vote is for the red/pink stripe too...it's too cute! I love the inside black/white stripe too...I knew there was a reason we were friends...a shared love for inside fabrics! =)
Solid Red! Love it...! (Kenny from Wake Up voice) lol
Kristen, I didn't realize you were blogging!! I'm now a devoted follower!
Now that my heart is set on the red/pink stripe, I see that it is no longer available. I'm going to wait and pray!
